We are looking forward to safer internet day next week and have teamed up with the PSHE department as it coincidentally, is Children's Mental Health week - starting Monday 6th February 2023. We will be filling our form times, PSHE lessons and computing time with various activities, as well as an online safety evening on Monday 13th February 2023 (hosted by our digital ambassadors) and lunchtime activities for our pupils.
The theme is 'Want to Talk About It?' - where our pupils will be encouraged to explore making space for conversations online.
If you would like to attend our online safety evening and have not already expressed an interest, please follow the link below to let us know you will be attending (we will be online and in person!).
The Mr L Podcast is back! - And were on Spotify! Mr Leonard will be hosting a brief podcast which will be linked in due course (due out Friday 3rd February 2023), where he will talk all things tech, including our up and coming safer internet day, pupil digital ambassadors and more. Want to ask a question? Then send an email to: MrL@goscentral.co.uk or come along and ask at our online safety evening!
The internet is a fantastic thing if used wisely; at GCMS we strive to prepare our pupils to be mindful with regards to protecting themselves and using the internet wisely. Internet Safety is delivered as an integral part of all aspects of our Computing Curriculum and also covered as large part of our PSHE curriculum.
Our use of Chromebooks presents regular opportunities across the curriculum for pupils to develop and practice their digital skills across the curriculum.
The links below will take you to other websites that will help you to reinforce with your child the skills and information they need to become a responsible and safe digital citizen.
