Zones of regulation
Zones of regulation
The zones of regulation help us describe how our brain and body feel. It is important that you listen to your body and how you are feeling when you are in each zone as it is completely natural. There are four zones:
The blue zone: Your body runs slow, such as when you are tired, sick, sad or bored.
The yellow zone: The yellow zone describes when you start to lose control. ?You may feel frustrated, overwhelmed, silly, wiggly, excited, worried, anxious, or surprised!
The green zone: You are like a green light, when it is 'good to go'. ?You may feel, happy, calm and focused.?
The red zone: These are emotions like terror, anger, aggression and elation. When you are in the red zone, you may feel out of control and have trouble making good decisions?.
Remember there is a range of strategies you can use to help you when you are in each zone. Click here to have a look at some of the strategies that can help you regulate yourself at school and at home.
